(TORONTO - Nov 6, 2024) Building on its exciting partnership with Roy Thomson Hall and Allied Music Centre, The Grange of Prince Edward Winery (or “The Grange”) is proud to unveil Massey Red, a collaborative privatelabel wine celebrating the 130th anniversary of the iconic Massey Hall.

Launching today, 2023 Massey Red brings together one of Toronto’s most storied music venues and one of Prince Edward County’s most enduring wineries for a truly unique cultural collaboration.

"At The Grange, we’ve always believed that wine and music have the power to bring people together in meaningful ways," says Michael Leskovec, CEO of The Grange. "Massey Hall has been a beacon of Canadian creativity and culture for 130 years, and we couldn’t be more thrilled to honour its legacy with this special wine. Massey Red is a toast to the past, present, and future of this incredible institution and the artists it continues to inspire."

Massey Red is crafted exclusively from grapes grown on The Grange’s 40-acre property in Hillier, Ontario, using fruit from The Grange’s Northfield, Victoria and Diana blocks. This marks the first harvest after a multi-year vineyard rejuvenation process, creating a wine that reflects the care and dedication poured into both the land and this collaboration.

This blend of Pinot Noir, Gamay and Cabernet Franc is bright, fruit-forward, and approachable. Notes of mocha and ripe berry fruit intermingle with tart cranberry, leather and tea leaf. The palate is fresh and fun, with good structure, a delightful acidity, and fine integrated tannins. This blend combines to create a singularly delicious tribute to the vibrancy of Massey Hall's immense contribution to Toronto and Canadian music culture.

Massey Red is the latest release in The Grange’s Estate Series, a collection of wines dedicated to showcasing the exquisitely rich and varied terroir of the property’s storied vineyards, which are some of the oldest in Prince Edward County.

This release represents the next exciting chapter in a flourishing partnership between The Grange of Prince Edward, Allied Music Centre—home of Massey Hall— and Roy Thomson Hall. Since early 2024, Grange

wines have been prominently featured in hospitality spaces across the venues, including a dedicated Grange wine bar in Roy Thomson Hall’s east lobby. The partnership has also brought guests closer to wine culture through intimate tastings, events, and select concert sponsorships.

For 130 years, Massey Hall has stood as a cornerstone of Canadian music history, hosting legendary artists from Oscar Peterson and Joni Mitchell to Rush, Ella Fitzgerald, Diana Krall and The Tragically Hip. This partnership reflects The Grange’s commitment to honouring this cultural legacy and its enduring impact on the Toronto and Canadian arts scene.

Massey Red ($27) is available now at The Grange of Prince Edward Winery, online at www.grangewinery.com and exclusively on location at Allied Music Centre (Massey Hall and TD Music Hall) and Roy Thomson Hall.
